Cbus has a proud history as one of Australia's first industry funds. We were formed in 1984 when construction and building workers won the right to superannuation.
Today, Cbus is the leading Industry Super Fund for the building, construction and allied industries.
As one of Australia’s largest super funds, Cbus provides superannuation and income stream accounts to 775,000 members and manage $65 billion of members’ money (as at 30 June 2021). Cbus members include workers and retirees, their families and employers.
Cbus members and employer interests are represented on the Cbus board through their sponsoring organisations. Cbus sponsoring organisations are sourced from unions and employer associations including CFMEU, AMWU, AWU, CEPU, ACTU and MBA.

We invest our members’ retirement savings in different types of assets for the long-term. We also invest directly in the building and construction industry through our wholly owned subsidiary, Cbus Property^. This adds to the returns of our fund, creates jobs and contributes to the economic activity of the industry in which our members and employers work.
